Grand Canyon National Park
THEY HAVE SHUTTLES, hmm-hm, they have shuttles: park once then use them.
South Rim Trail
From Hermit’s Rest trailhead to South Kaibab trailhead. Glorious, easy hike to see the canyon from many perpectives. Some sketchy bits of trail at the edge, don’t do it, looks like it would damage the rim more than anything.
Skeleton Point
(Note: this is from a small parking, shave a few clicks by taking the shuttle)
Really well made trail with regards to slope. Going up at 465 vertical-m/h! Do it before it gets hot though. This is the way to take in the canyon, walking through layers and time makes you appreciate the views better.
Around Williams
Sycamore Rim Trail
KA Hill, down to the source and the start Sycamore canyon, falls then the rim. Beautiful forest, cool canyon.
Saguaro National Park (Tucson)
Saguaro East
Flowery desert, cut short because it was getting really hot. Your in for flowers, cactus, cactus with flowers, local birds and reptiles. This hike can be extended to a 23+ km, without much gain added.
Saguaro West - Wassen Peak
From the Desert Museum, up to Wassen peak. Great loop, look up for flowering Saguaros!
